Shared Interests

The Society engages in research and seeks to preserve the heritage of the town. GYLHAS consequently works closely with similar organisations in Great Yarmouth.

 

 

The society is often consulted on issues of local history and is able to offer carefully considered advice when invited to do so. The society, or its members, are actively involved in several local projects including those outlined below.

 

Great Yarmouth Borough Council

 

 The Society monitors local council planning applications and Heritage initiatives

English Heritage

 

Members of GYLHAS are involved with the English Heritage Schools Project and have worked with local teachers and schools.

Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust

 

The GYLHAS is represented on the GYPT board and continues to work closely with the Trust.
